Clarion Alzheimer’s walk raises nearly $29,000

About 100 people participated in the Clarion Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Thursday at Lost In The Wilds Brewing.

Participants raised nearly $29,000, surpassing the $27,000 goal, to support the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Clarview/Country Springs, led by captain Stephanie Ginnery, was the top fundraising team, raising more than $4,200.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

In Pennsylvania alone, there are more than 280,000 people living with the disease and 400,000 caregivers.
