CCD holds two December events

From staff reports

The Clarion Conservation District invites community members of all ages to two different free educational events this December.

First event is a “Crafts and Conifers” program. It will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, at the Clarion Conservation District Office located at 249 South Second Ave. in Clarion.

At this event, learn about native, coniferous tree species and create a natural ornament to take home. Craft supplies will be provided. A limit of 15 participants is allowed for this event.

The other program is a “Winter Solstice Hike.” It will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 21, at the Redbank Valley Trail in Hawthorn. The hike will be approximately one mile on easy terrain.

To participate, meet at Pottery Field (soccer complex). Hot Cocoa is provided afterwards. Participants are asked to dress for the weather.

For more information and to register for the events, please call the Clarion Conservation District at (814) 393-6147 or email hbequeathccd@gmail.com.
