A new Dollar General store is coming to Clarion County.
Kristi Amato, the county’s planning director, said Thursday the county Planning Commission has granted preliminary approval to Dollar General for the construction of a 9,100-square foot store in Piney Township.
Amato said the store will be located on Route 68 just outside Sligo Borough.
The store will be 130 feet by 60.6 feet.
Amato said a spokesman from the company said it was initially hoped to have the store open by December.
“That will depend on when they get the concrete poured,” said Amato. “They have it down to a science.”
Amato said the store will have an on-lot sewage system and that an erosion and sedimentation permit has been received.
She said the store will have 30 parking spaces.
Amato said there are about 10 Dollar General stores in Clarion County.
