2 killed in Clarion County crash

From staff reports

Clarion state police on Tuesday identified the two people who were killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Paint Township, Clarion County.

Jared J. Felmlee, 37, of Seneca, and Barbra Sue Burkhardt, 35, of Shippenville, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom.

Police said the crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 66 and Wisner Road. Police said Felmlee was operating a motorcycle that was headed north on Route 66, and Burkhardt was a passenger on the motorcycle.

A vehicle driven by Tyler O. Schwabenbauer, 19, of Franklin, was traveling south on Route 66, and Schwabenbauer made a left turn into the path of Felmlee’s motorcycle, police said.

Police did not indicate whether Schwabenbauer or a 17-year-old female passenger from Hawthorn were injured.

Police said their investigation is continuing.

The roadway was closed for about four hours.

Shippenville-Elk volunteer firefighters and Shippenville Ambulance assisted at the scene.
