2 Clarion residents die in motorcycle accident

From staff reports

Clarion state police said two Clarion residents died in a motorcycle accident on Route 322 in Clarion Township, north of Liberty Street, late Wednesday evening.

Police said John Jaehn, 46, was driving east on a 2007 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam Street Glide at about 11:30 p.m., when he lost control of the vehicle as he was negotiating a right bend in the road.

Police said the motorcycle then traveled southeast across the double yellow lines and into the oncoming traffic lane.

Police said the motorcycle started sliding on its side for about 100 feet before it traveled off the roadway and continued southeast for about 30 feet before making initial impact with a stone wall.

Police said Jaehn and his passenger, Rachel Jaehn, 40, were located at rest “just after the stone wall.” The motorcycle continued east for about 20 feet before it struck a metal fence, police said.

After striking the fence, the motorcycle continued southeast for about 10 feet before it came to a final stop facing north on the eastern side of the road.
