Work on Route 28 to begin next week

Work will begin next week on a resurfacing project in New Bethlehem Borough, Clarion County, according to PennDOT.

The project includes paving operations, drainage, and the installation of ADA ramps on Route 28 between the post office and Rhodes Salvage in New Bethlehem Borough.

Beginning the week of March 28, the ADA ramps will be constructed on Route 28 each day between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Other work will include patching and drainage. Pedestrian access will be maintained, but parking spaces may be impacted. A daytime, single-lane closure will be in place to complete this work, PennDOT said.

The paving operations will be conducted nightly between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Nightly, single-lane restrictions will be in place during paving operations.

This $1.2 million resurfacing project is being constructed by Derry Construction and is expected to be completed in August.

PennDOT advised motorists to slow down and use caution in work zones.
