Wolf’s Corners Fair to be ‘bigger and better’

Wolf’s Corners Fair returns this year, and organizers promise it will be more exciting.

“Because we canceled for the coronavirus (in 2020), we really worked hard (for 2021),” said Chase Steinman, Wolf’s Corners Fair Board member and an event organizer. “We said, ‘Look, we need to make (this) year’s bigger and better than before.'”

The grandstand events are some of the primary draws to Wolf’s Corners Fair. They include the tractor pull, truck pull, and the demolition derbies, two of the largest events at the fair.

Booking larger acts for the derbies and pulls was a priority for the board.

“We’ve got some big stuff coming in. Bigger than they’ve ever had here,” Steinman said. “We got guys coming from New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to pull here.”

He said there could be more than 100 participants at a time for the demolition derbies.

“We’ll have a whole bunch of local guys that come in for that,” Steinman said.

The compact car, small truck, and minivan demo derbies will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. The full-size demo derby will be held at 7 p.m. July 3.

The farm stock tractor pull will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday and the large power pull is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday.

The fair, which also will feature a rodeo from Rafter Z Rodeo on July 4, remains a draw for its more traditional aspects, prominently the animal judging and auction for the community’s youths.

“Kids come from all over,” Steinman said. “There’s a lot of kids that are local, like a 5-, 8-mile radius of this area, but we get kids from all over.”

The carnival aspect of Wolf’s Corners Fair also is a big draw.

Steinman said the entire midway will be full of carnival food vendors and rides.

This year’s fair also will get exotic. Steinman said organizers have brought in “Bruno Blaszak’s Royal Tiger Show” to perform multiple times from Wednesday through July 4. There also will be music at the fair.

The fairgrounds and gates open at 4 p.m. Sunday through July 2, and at 11 a.m. July 3 and 4.
