From staff reports
Strong winds and a heavy downpour caused widespread power outages for approximately 1,300 Central Electric Cooperative members early Friday evening.
The majority of affected areas involved members served by the Nectarine substation near Emlenton, as well as members served by the Rimersburg substation including Madison, Porter and Toby townships, the utility said.
Central Electric also reported other scattered outages in the counties it serves.
The utility said crews would continue to work throughout the Friday evening to restore power to its members.
