Walk to End Alzheimer’s set Saturday in Clarion

Clarion County residents may join the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday.

The two-mile walk will start at 9 a.m. from the Clarion County courthouse.

Registration will start at 8 a.m. A Promise Garden Ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. in which walkers may honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with flowers.

Participants will be invited to walk in the Autumn Leaf Festival parade.

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Pennsylvania, there are more than 400,000 people living with the disease and 676,000 caregivers.
