Tionesta teen injured in crash

A 16-year-old was sent to the hospital Wednesday after a car accident in Clarion.

Clarion state police said the incident occurred at 5:40 p.m. on Route 66 at the intersection with Waterson Road.

Police didn’t identify the teen except to say that she was female from Tionesta. Police said the teen driver failed to slow down when a car in front of her was making a turn and she hit the other car from behind.

The second vehicle was being driven by Jeannine B. Guth, 56, of Oil City, police said. Guth wasn’t hurt.

A passenger in the teen’s car, who was identified as a 16-year old boy from Hawthorn, also escaped injury.

The teen driver was taken to Clarion Hospital for evaluation, police said. She was also cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Limestone volunteer firefighters and Clarion EMS assisted at the scene.
