Pennies from Heaven, along with Community Action, Inc., are planning to distribute the school supplies they have collected through donations for local students needing supplies for the upcoming school season.
CAI will distribute a limited supply of backpacks and school supplies from Aug. 12 through Aug. 30. Distribution of backpacks and supplies is on a first come basis.
To receive a backpack, the following information is required for the child: name, the last four numbers of the social security number, birth date, home address, grade and school district.
Sponsors of this event are Pennies from Heaven, CAI, Haines Busing, Sons of the American Legion, C93 Radio, Charitable Deeds, Clarion Rod and Gun Club, United Electric Cooperative, Central Electric Cooperative and The Salvation Army.
