Redbank Library gets $51K grant

From staff reports

The Redbank Valley Public Library has received a Keystone grant of more than $51,000 for improvements, according to a joint news release from state Rep. Donna Oberlander and state Sen. Scott Hutchinson.

The grant funding, awarded through the state Department of Education’s Office of Commonwealth Libraries, can be used to help public libraries improve their operations, install equipment and upgrade security systems.

“Our libraries play a critical role in our communities, which goes far beyond education,” Oberlander said. “Redbank Valley Library offers programs like the summer reading program, access to computer technology and meeting rooms for local organizations.”

Hutchinson said the grant provides a way to continue support of “the vital role our public libraries play in providing and enhancing educational opportunities throughout our communities.”
