Penn Highlands opens Clarion facility

Representatives from the Clarion community and Penn Highlands Healthcare participated in a ribbon-cutting at the Clarion Community Medical Building on Wednesday. The new center is located on Holiday Inn Road, Route 68.

“The Clarion Community Medical Building provides the residents of Clarion County and surrounding areas with convenient access to critical services and advanced care,” said John Sutika, president of Penn Highlands DuBois. “And, not only does this facility enhance services, it created new health care jobs for this region.”

The facility offers various services, including diagnostic imaging, family medicine, gastroenterology, orthopedics, outpatient, physical therapy, pulmonology, a retail pharmacy and walk-in QCare. Penn Highlands Life’s Journey OB/GYN and endocrinology services will open soon.

An open house is schedule from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Penn Highlands Healthcare is composed of eight hospitals: Brookville, Clearfield, Connellsville, DuBois, Elk, Huntingdon, Mon Valley and Tyrone.

The system also includes home care agencies, long-term care facilities and residential senior living communities, as well as durable medical equipment companies and retail pharmacies.
