From staff reports

Penn State Master Gardeners of Clarion and the Clarion First Presbyterian Church Food Bag Program are offering Seed to Supper, a comprehensive beginning gardening program that gives novice, adult gardeners the knowledge needed to successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget.

Classes will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursdays from April 4 through May 23 in the social hall at the First Presbyterian Church at 700 Wood St. in Clarion.

The course will cover vegetable gardening fundamental topics such as “Planning Your Garden”, “Getting Started with Healthy Soil”, “Planting Your Garden”, “Caring for Your Growing Garden” and “Harvesting Your Bounty.”

Information will be presented on container gardening.

There is space at the Clarion County Park for participants who opt for additional hands-on experience in addition to the Thursday evening classes.

Advanced registration is required. To register, people can call or email the Clarion County Extension at (814) 223-9028 or clarionmg@psu.edu and leave a name, phone number and email, and a Seed to Supper facilitator will be in contact to complete the registration.
