Marienville Winterfest

MARIENVILLE — The Marienville Area Civic Association will sponsor the Marienville Winterfest from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.

There will be bingo, raffles, food, vendors, a Chinese auction, a scavenger hunt, and snow sculptures throughout the day.

At noon, the Marienville and Tionesta Lions clubs will duel for bragging rights as to which club has the best chili.

There will be a snowflake cutting contest at 2 p.m. followed by a bake-off at 3 p.m.  Those interested in participating should take a pie, a dozen cookies or a cake to be entered into the contest.  After the bake-off, the baked goods will be auctioned off.

A coloring contest will be held at 4 p.m.

The sky lanterns to Heaven will be lit at 6 p.m. Lanterns may be purchased in memory or honor of loved ones.  The cost per lantern is $5.  Interested people may call Roxanne Thornton at (814) 927-8218 to purchase them.  The Forest County ATV Club will be sponsoring the sky lanterns.

The Marienville Trail Riders Snowmobile Club will sponsor the snowmobile torchlight parade at 7 p.m.  Those interested in participating may take their machine to the picnic pavilion at MACA by 6:45 p.m.
