The Lumberman Statue on the lawn of the Forest County Historical Society in Tionesta was officially dedicated Saturday.
Those in attendance at the ceremony were Jackie Kuhn from the historical society, State Sen. Scott Hutchinson (R-21st), State Rep. Kathy Rapp (R-65th), U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson (R-5th) and Barbara Litten, who spoke on behalf of the Forest Area Arts Council.
Julia McCray and Jackie Kuhn organized the dedication ceremony and spearheaded the fundraising drive to complete the project.
Their efforts included a Flannel and Denim dinner, which featured raffles and a lumberman-themed auction.
The auction items were donated by local businesses and a dinner menu of lumberman’s stew was prepared by the Ladies Guild of St. Anthony’s Church.
