Local residents score wins at farm show

Numerous local residents have won competitions at the 2022 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

Among the winners announced so far:

Early spring heifer calves

Grace A Shick, Clarion County a fourth-place finish.

Early spring bull calves

Grace A. Shick, Clarion County, a second-place finish.

Maple syrup

Kevin Dennis, Cooperstown, Venango County, three first-places, and one each second-, third- and fourth-place finishes.

Skillathon

Kord Stewart, Emlenton, Venango County, one third-place finish.

Garrett Schick, Knox, Clarion County, one third-place finish.

Junior beef cattle

Grace Shick, Clarion, Clarion County, one third-place finish.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show draws scores of visitors to Harrisburg every year for a mid-winter celebration of Pennsylvania agriculture.

It is the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the nation, featuring nearly 6,000 animals, 12,000 competitive events and exhibits, plus 300 commercial exhibits and hundreds

of educational and entertaining events.

It showcases the diversity and quality of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry and the people who make it thrive.

The show offers visitors a peek into the industry that supports 593,000 Pennsylvania jobs and contributes $132.5 billion to Pennsylvania’s economy every year.
