Knox hosts Easter egg events this weekend

From staff reports

The Knox Borough Police Department will host an egg decorating event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 12 at the borough building.

“It’s a new event we hope it turns out well so we can continue to do it in the upcoming years,” said Knox Borough Police Chief Joab Orr.

All the eggs, coloring kits, supplies are taken care of and it is open to anyone that is interested in attending the event.

“We thought this would be a great way to pull the community together and enjoy an evening — and you never know maybe the Easter Bunny may make a surprise visit,” said Knox Borough Patrolman Jason Bowen.

While all those eggs go home with the decorators, more eggs will available for finding the next day.

An Easter egg hunt will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at Knox Community Park.

The egg hunt is open to children up to age 12.

Knox United Methodist Youth and the police department are teaming up to host the celebration.

“This year we are also going to be having some games as well for the older kids and adults if they want to join,” said Orr.

Food, beverages, games and gift baskets will be available.

The Easter Bunny also will be available for photos with children of all ages.
