Keystone students observe open-heart surgery

From staff reports

Students from Keystone High School traveled to Allegheny General Hospital on Wednesday to observe an open-heart surgery.

Matt Baker’s biology II class, filled with juniors and seniors, were able to see an entire triple bypass surgery from start to completion.

The students observed numerous professionals and the roles they play during the procedure.

The opportunity is available to all western Pennsylvania high school students through the Allegheny Health Network.
