Keystone budget includes tax hike

From staff reports

Keystone School Board unanimously approved the district’s preliminary 2023-24 budget Monday that calls for a three-mill real estate tax increase.

The board moved $96,379 from the capital reserve account to balance the of $18,344,418 budget.

The budget will be supported by a real estate tax of 55.87, an occupational tax, a flat per capita tax of $10, a realty transfer tax of .5 percent and a local flat earned income tax rate of .5 percent.

The school district is required by law to adopt its budget by the end of June. A major part of the budget is the basic state subsidy, and that amount is not known because the state has not yet passed its 2023-24 budget.
