Human trafficking program set tonight in Clarion

From staff reports

State Rep. Donna Oberlander will lead a human trafficking awareness event from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight in Hart Chapel at the PennWest-Clarion campus in Clarion.

Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI will co-host the program.

Currently, Pennsylvania is ranked in the top 10 human trafficking states nationally, and Interstate 80 can be an ideal corridor for trafficking, according to a press release from PennWest-Clarion promoting tonight’s event.

Awareness, understanding and increased efforts are essential to combating this crime, the press release said.

Oberlander, who is a Clarion University graduate, held a similar event in 2021.
