Hospital foundation accepting scholarship applications

The Clarion Hospital Foundation will award seven scholarships to students of Clarion County. The deadline to submit the applications was moved to an earlier date this year and is quickly approaching. Any student pursuing a health care career is encouraged to apply.

Scholarships to be awarded are: One $1000 Dr. John E. Brooks Memorial Scholarship; two $1000 Joseph & Helen Miller Memorial Scholarships; two $1000 Fran Shope Memorial Scholarships; one $1000 James B. Alexander Memorial Scholarship and one $1000 Dr. John L. Johnston Memorial Scholarship.

 

The scholarships are paid directly to the school of the student’s choice.

To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a graduate or future graduate of a Clarion County high school
  • Be accepted to a school of post-secondary health care education
  • Have a grade point average of 3.0 or equivalent in the final three years of high school
  • Plan to pursue education in nursing, inhalation therapy, lab technology, radiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical technology or other medical field career

Students who would like to be considered for a scholarship should have their applications submitted to the Clarion Hospital Foundation no later than Feb. 28th. Applications for the scholarships can be found on the Clarion Hospital website at www.clarionhospital.org. Click on the link for the 2018 scholarship application to access the form. Students may request an application via mail by calling Patti Bell at (814) 226-1262.

All applications must be postmarked by Feb. 28 or dropped of at the Foundation Office at Clarion Hospital.  Mail applications to Clarion Hospital Foundation, Attention: Scholarship Committee, 1 Hospital Drive, Clarion, PA 16214.
