Clarion troupe presents comedy-‘The Clamorings at Giggly Halt’ continues run at Sawmill center

COOK FOREST — It’s a tale of robbery, animal rights, a love affair and more when Clarion Community Theater presents the comedy “The Clamorings at Giggly Halt” today at the Sawmill center theater.  Performance is at 8 p.m.  Additional performances are set for Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 1-3, at the theater.  About the show: A daring robbery has taken place at Meddler’s Top, but the thieves set off the alarms and need somewhere to stash the loot.  The crooks stash the necklace in the Giggly Halt train station, not knowing the station is about to be inspected by a nosy inspector, when all the while the station is being used to stash other goods stolen from a nearby holiday camp.  When a rare bird is discovered in the station, local bird lovers set out to close the station while donkey lovers set out to close the holiday camp.  Sir Pingnet Threefall is having an affair with Miranda from the holiday camp, and they need to be discrete.  Harry Toxin is suffering from large-scale pilfering, a cash flow crisis and accusations of cruelty to donkeys.  All the threads are converging at Giggly Halt railway station.  The cast includes longtime Clarion Community Theater actors and several new members of the troupe.  Taking roles in the show are Carol Lapinto of Clarion, Jenny Seelbaugh of Knox, Linda Lerch of Clarion, Rodney Sherman of Lamartine, Ashley Schuckers of Roseville, Ken Omecinski of Shannondale, Mike Barger of Brookville, Jody Frazier of Knox, and Robert and Dawn Hartman of Clarion.  Also in the cast are Alyssa and Kristen Drake of Brookville, Pam Huffman of Lamartine, Linda Nieding of Cook Forest and Henry Sherman of Lucinda.  Todays’s performance will include live interpretation for the hard of hearing and deaf.  The show is family-friendly.
