Clarion man charged with assault, endangerment

From staff reports

A Clarion man is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children after he allegedly grabbed the steering wheel of a vehicle Monday and forced it off the roadway.

Clarion state police said Randy Homuth, a passenger in the vehicle, got into a verbal argument with the driver and grabbed the steering wheel, causing it to strike a wooden fence.

Two children were in the car at the time, and one was taken to Clarion Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Homuth is facing three counts of simple assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of children and three counts of recklessly endangering another person, all misdemeanors.
