Clarion Borough lights 41 trees

Clarion Borough’s Illumination Night was held Monday as the lights on 41 trees in Veterans Park were simultaneously turned on. Channing Ragon of Clarion is pictured here admiring one of the trees representing the U.S. Marine Corps. A large crowd of children and adults came out to enjoy the celebration, and Santa, Mrs. Claus and a chief elf made an appearance and listened to the long line of kids who braved the dropping temperatures for a chance to meet them. The trees, which were provided by John Daughtery of Irish Acres Tree Farm in Knox, are decorated to represent the various military branches, organizations and businesses that span Clarion County. Decorating was done by members of the respective organizations as well as by students from Clarion Area, Knox and Clarion-Limestone high schools. The trees will remain on display until Jan. 7.
