Clarion 4H hosts virtual pet show

Do you have a cute pet that you want to show off? Then you may want to consider entering your pet in the Clarion 4H virtual pet show.

Due to Covid-19, Clarion County Extension has made the decision to host the annual pet show virtually this year.

To participate in the show, email a picture or video of you and your pet. All entrees give photo release permission to Penn State Extension.

All entrees should be sent to clarionpetshow@gmail.com along with a paragraph about the exhibitor and their pet, the exhibitors address, age, and class they are entered in.

Participants not able to email their entrees, can mail them to: Applewood Center, 160 South 2nd Ave., Suite B, Clarion, Pa. 16214.

The top five contestants from each category will be put on the 4H Facebook page and the pet with the most likes will be the winner.

Also, first-place trophies will be awarded in all classes in the memory of Sam Whitmore and winners will have their photo posted at the Clarion Fair.

Classes will be categorized for this event as follows:

  • Bunnies, guinea pigs, rats, white mice, and other small pets bunnies will be any rabbit under 6 months old
  • Rabbits
  • Barnyard pets any farm animal, traditional or nontraditional
  • Costumed pets any pet in costume
  • Frogs, fish, turtles, snakes, lizards, and other water pets
  • Kittens must be 12 months old or younger
  • Cats
  • Puppies must be 12 months old or younger
  • Dogs (small 20 lbs. or less or large more than 20 lbs.) obedience trained such as to heel, figure 8, stand for exam, recall, and finish
  • Trick class-showcase your pet’s best trick

Deadline for all entrees is by noon on July 7. All exhibitors must be 18 years or younger and are not required to be in 4H.
