Chamber selects Autumn Leaf theme, logo

The Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry announced the winning theme and logo for the 2022 Autumn Leaf Festival during the annual Chamber banquet Saturday.

Glenn Beichner submitted the ALF theme “Autumn Adventure”, and Janet Hockman of Knox created the winning logo.

Hockman’s intricate logo, which required 40 hours of work, will be used on all ALF merchandise, including the popular festival glasses.

Courtney Herzing, who will serve as festival chairman this year, said the event will run from Saturday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Oct. 2. A full schedule will be released at a late date.

Jen Keth, who chaired last year’s festival, said there won’t be an Autumn Leaf scholarship pageant this year due to the lack of a chairman or committee for the event.

Lyn Nesbitt, the new chamber president, was introduced at Saturday’s dinner.

“I challenge you to become more involved,” Nesbitt said. “We appreciate your financial support for our events and projects but what we really need is a few hours of your time. Even a couple of hours really helps us out,” she added.

“The goal of the chamber remains the same,” said Nesbitt. “Serve and promote our members, serve our community and continue to urge everyone to shop local and support local businesses throughout the whole year.”

The chamber’s next event is a job and education fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at the Clarion Mall.

A full list of the chamber’s events for 2022 is on the chamber’s website.

About 150 people attended Saturday’s dinner at the Clarion Moose Lodge.
