CLARION – The Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry invites the community to celebrate the 2016 holiday season with Customer Appreciation Day, held Monday, Nov. 21. Join them for the annual Christmas parade and party at 6 p.m. and shop small businesses on “Small Business Saturday,” Nov. 26, in downtown Clarion.
Free parking will be available for Clarion shoppers on Nov. 21, 25, and Nov. 28 through Dec. 26, and don’t forget to drop off the kids’ letters to Santa in the big mailbox located at Clarion Area Chamber office located at 650 Main Street in Clarion.
Customer Appreciation Day, Monday, Nov. 21, will help shoppers start the holiday shopping season. Businesses in downtown Clarion will offer special sales and promotions for customers throughout the day.
Many of these sales will be “one-day-only,” so don’t miss this opportunity to score great deals at favorite local businesses. For a complete listing of participating businesses and promotions, pick up the 2016 holiday brochure at the Clarion Area Chamber office.
Really get the holiday spirit at the annual Christmas parade. Line up for the parade begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Northwest Savings Bank parking lot with the parade stepping off at 6 p.m.
The parade travels down Main Street, ending at Fifth Avenue. All parade entries are welcome.
The categories of entries include marching bands, musical and instrumental groups, color guard, novelty and specialty groups, drill teams, non-profit service organization or groups, equestrian or animal groups, Scout troops, floats, VIP’s, dignitaries, celebrities and gymnastic groups.

Stop by the Chamber office beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, to pick up free stockings for all local children, filled with goodies compliments of the Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry and the Clarion Area Business Community. Then before and after the parade, stop by several other businesses to pick up even more goodies being offered. The list of participating locations will be included with the stockings.
After the parade, children can get their picture taken with Santa Claus from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Clarion Area Chamber office.
Saturday, Nov. 26, promises to be a day filled with excitement as the Clarion community celebrates “Small Business Saturday” with great sales and two chances to win prizes.
Customers will find great deals and special promotions at various Clarion area businesses. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., stop by the Clarion Area Chamber office for a special giveaway for Clarion shoppers. Play “Plinko” for a chance to win coupons to save money while shopping the favorite local stores.
