Bear check station moves from Marienville to Leeper

From staff reports

The Pennsylvania Game Commission bear check station that was to be operated in Forest County during the four-day firearms bear season from Nov. 20-23 is changing locations.

The station will now be at the Farmington Township fire hall at the intersection of routes 66 and 36 in Leeper.

The station was originally going to operate in Marienville, but the change was made due to COVID protocols.

All hunters harvesting bears during the four-day firearms season are required within 24 hours to have their bears checked at a Game Commission check station. All the stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 20-22 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 23.
