Zama wins GOP Caucus vote held in Clarion County

From staff reports

Republican gubernatorial candidate Nche Zama was the top vote-getter in the state GOP Northwest Caucus straw poll in Knox on Saturday.

According to Mechanicsburg-based Lewis Strategic, a marketing firm that reported the result, the victory follows Zama’s second-place finish in the previous weekend’s state GOP Northeast Caucus straw poll.

“Thank you western Pennsylvania for this caucus victory,’’ said Zama, a retired heart surgeon. “Everywhere I go, people want a compassionate, critical thinker who is not entrenched in the political landscape of the past.

“Voters tell me they are tired of career politicians, lawyers, and multimillionaires trying to buy seats of power to serve themselves. They want a true public servant leading high-performance teams of Pennsylvanians, addressing our problems.”

According to Lewis Strategic, Zama is the only gubernatorial candidate to have visited all 67 Pennsylvania counties during the course of the campaign.

This weekend, the state Republican Party will hold its winter meeting.
