Local youth completed the second annual 30 Hour Famine and service project event at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church this year.

Nearly 30 youths took part in the event and put together over 20 blessing baskets for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and 20 buckets of cleaning supplies for Clarion County SAFE.

On Saturday, adults and youths walked through Knox and collected food donations.

The funds for these service projects were donated by Thrivent Action Funds.

Those thanked for their help in supporting the event include area churches and the 30 Hour Famine planning team: Brian Hauser of Endenburg and Concord Presbyterian; Amy Hartzell and Pastor Karen Parsh of Salem and St. Paul’s Lutheran Parish; Amanda and Dana Sherry of Turkey City Church of God; Lewie Bennett and Brittney Caulfield of Grace E.C.; and Lisa and Larry Guerrero and Dave Coul of Knox United Methodist Church.
