Work on River Road to begin next week

A resurfacing project on River Road in Barnett Township, Forest County will soon get underway, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The project is expected to begin Monday, Aug. 14, and is scheduled for completion by Thursday, Aug. 31.

The project will resurface a section of River Road extending for about two miles west from the intersection with Greenwood Road.

Work will involve resurfacing and updating guiderail.

Full-width paving is expected on this project, and flaggers will be posted to guide motorists around areas where construction activities are taking place.

The contractor is IA Construction Corporation of Franklin. The contract cost is $364,177.33, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
