Woman flown to hospital

A Sligo woman was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after she reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle Thursday afternoon in Marienville.

The woman had an active protection from abuse order against the man driving the vehicle, according to Marienville state police.

Police said the 54-year-old woman reportedly jumped from the vehicle at about 5:20 p.m. Thursday while the vehicle was traveling south on routes 889 and 36. The driver was identified as Brian Ochs, 54, of Sligo.

The woman, who police said was highly intoxicated, had an altercation with Ochs in the vehicle, according to police. She had sustained injuries and walked to the Sigel Hotel for assistance, police said.

The woman was flown by a Life Flight helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Police said charges for violating a protection from abuse order were filed against Ochs after he was interviewed by police.
