A 43-year-old Knox woman is charged with shooting a man May 5 in Ashland Township.
Dana Marie Altman, 43, Knox, is charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, both second-degree misdemeanors.
According to court records, at approximately 11:12 p.m. on May 5, Altman, the victim and three other known males were allegedly standing around a fire and shooting each other with Air Soft and BB guns.
State police Tpr. James Gezik alleges Altman grabbed what she thought was an air-soft gun from the holster of one of the known male’s hips.
Altman allegedly worked the action of the gun as if loading a BB. She then allegedly pointed the gun at the victim’s buttocks and pulled the trigger.
The .45-caliber round from the handgun struck the victim in the left buttock.
The victim was flown from the scene by helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment.
