Winners named at ALF pageant

CLARION – The Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry held its annual Miss Junior Teen and Miss Teen ALF Scholarship Program Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Clarion Area High School auditorium.

Sponsored by UPMC-Northwest, nine area youth graced the stage with style for the 63rd annual Autumn Leaf Festival.

Larissa Lauer, a student at Clarion Area High School, was crowned Miss Teen ALF 2016. Lauer received an $800 scholarship and a $500 Clarion University scholarship.

Angela Olson, a student at Clarion-Limestone High School, was crowned Miss Junior Teen 2016. Young received a $400 scholarship.

In the Miss Teen competition, Lauer also received $150 scholarships in both the essay and talent categories.

Dorothy Kalinowski, a student at Clarion Area High School, received a $150 scholarship for the interview as well as awards for Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic.

In the Miss Junior Teen competition, Olson also was the winner of the essay award, $100 scholarship, Miss Congeniality and tied with Abbey Barron, a student at North Clarion High School, for Miss Photogenic.

Barron was first runner-up and received a $250 scholarship.

Barron also received the Interview award, a $100 scholarship, and the Talent award, $150 scholarship.
