‘Wings of Hope’ butterfly release set July 15 in Clarion

From staff reports

Clarion Forest VNA and Hospice will host its sixth annual “Wings of Hope” butterfly release at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Clarion County Park.

Monarch butterflies are released in memory or in honor of loved ones, to commemorate special occasions or just to celebrate life.

The butterfly release includes a brief program of inspirational readings, music and reflections honoring all those being remembered or honored with a butterfly.

The event also includes a butterfly tent where attendees can walk among the butterflies and also feed them.

Proceeds from the event benefit the hospice bereavement and volunteer programs, many of which are offered at no cost to the community. A gift of $25 per butterfly helps support these programs.

Forms are available in three ways for anyone who wants to sponsor a butterfly. They can be downloaded on the VNA’s website at www.cfvna.org or the CFVNA Facebook page or by calling the VNA at (814) 297-8400.

The deadline for orders is May 25.

The VNA will release butterflies for any sponsors who can’t attend that day.
