From staff reports

The Neil Sneeringer and Fallen Friends’ Memorial, Inc., a non-profit organization, has raised $5,400 through fundraising efforts this year.

The group was established in 2001 and currently has 14 members. President Ron Miller noted that they provide care packages and help with utilities, among various other ways to assist veterans that have fallen on hard times.

According to the group, $1,800 was donated this month to the United Military Support Group of Venango County. In addition to the donation, the Neil Sneeringer and Fallen Friends’ group will be providing Basil Huffman, commissioner of Forest County, with $1,800 for the Forest County Veterans Transportation program. The Crawford County Special Olympics will also receive $1,800.
