Venus man reported missing since Thursday

Franklin state police reported a missing person last seen at the Country Fair on the North Side of Oil City.

Burton David Porter, 44, of Venus, was reported missing by his wife shortly after midnight Thursday, a police report said.

He left work around 11 p.m. Wednesday and was observed at the Country Fair, where he requested a known female to text his wife that he had come to town to get gas and would be home soon, according to the report. Porter has not reported back to work at Allegheny Wood Products.

Police describe Porter as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 205 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be driving a black 2002 Honda Accord with Pennsylvania registration.

The vehicle has paw print stickers on a rear window along with an “I love dogs” sticker, and an unknown passenger was observed in Porter’s vehicle, according to the report.
