Turnout totals high across tri-county

Voter turnout was high Tuesday across the tri-county area, and Mehmet Oz and Doug Mastriano significantly outpolled their opponents in Republican-dominated Venango, Clarion and Forest counties.

The Venango County turnout was listed at 64.42% in the 44 precincts, and that total included in-person and mail-in ballots but not provisional ballots.

Oz had a 13,379-6,743 margin over John Fetterman in their U.S. Senate battle, and Mastriano had a lower 12,713-7,743 edge over Josh Shapiro in the governor race.

In Forest County, voter turnout was 65.89% with all nine precincts reporting their in-person and mail-in totals.

Oz defeated Fetterman by a margin of 1,433-694 in the county, and Mastriano topped Shapiro by a 1,339-825 total.

Provisional ballots aren’t included in the Forest County totals.

And in Clarion County, the margins were 10,601-4,311 for Oz and 10,000-5,100 for Mastriano with all 40 precincts reporting.
