Tionesta man arrested for growing marijuana in home

From staff reports

A Tionesta man is facing charges after police recovered 71 marijuana plants and paraphernalia from his basement earlier this month.

A criminal complaint filed through district judge Patrick Lowrey’s office said Erie state police received an anonymous tip on Nov. 8, regarding an indoor marijuana grow at the Route 62 residence of 59-year-old Edward Maund II.

On Dec. 7, police arrived at the residence and received permission from Maund to search the home, the complaint said.

Maund then took police to the basement where he was keeping a marijuana grow site, the complaint said.

Police recovered 71 marijuana plants, grow lights and fertilizer from the home, the complaint said.

Maund is facing a felony count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, in addition to misdemeanor counts of intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered and two counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned before Lowrey and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 14 in Central Court.
