Tionesta Indian Festival canceled

From staff reports

The Tionesta Indian Festival has been canceled this year.

“We could not keep everybody safe. We couldn’t sanitize everything after each use or limit the number of people in the area to 250,” Bernadette Holzer, president of the Tionesta Community Association, said. “We canceled for the safety of everyone.”

The festival is put on every year by the Tionesta Community Association.

The only event that hasn’t been canceled is the fireworks on Aug. 15, Holzer said.

This year would have been the 55th year for the festival.

“We are hoping to have it next year. We’ll come back bigger and better than ever,” Holzer said.
