As the Shippenville/Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department celebrated its 75th anniversary over the weekend of July 22-24, its oldest surviving members gathered for a photograph with some of the department’s original equipment, including axes, an old-style telephone, hose nozzles and other old items from the department’s collection.
