Scrubgrass Grange program focuses on bitcoin mining

From staff reports

Scrubgrass Grange’s upcoming Talking Tuesday program will feature the topics of bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrency.

The program is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Scrubgrass Power Plant.

The free, informational meeting will be conducted by Brian Flinspach and Jim Pierce.

Flinspach is the safety/compliance manager and Jim Pierce is operations manager of the Scrubgrass Reclamation Co.

The power plant was built in 1992, and initially provided electrical power to the grid but has recently changed focus and is now providing power to operate hundreds of computers involved with the cryptocurrency market.

The presentation is part of Scrubgrass Grange’s Talking Tuesdays program — a free monthly meeting meant to keep people informed of local concerns and happenings.

Scrubgrass Grange is located at 5104 Emlenton-Clintonville Road, Emlenton.
