Scotch Hill Vendors and Crafters Day is July 29

LEEPER — The eighth annual Scotch Hill Vendors and Crafters Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the community hall and surrounding grounds.  The hall is located at 278
Scotch Hill Drive, Leeper.

Admission is free to the event.  The kitchen will open at 9:30 a.m.

Nearly 40 vendors from Leeper, Knox, Marble, Shippenville, Pittsburgh, Everett, Clarion, Oil City, Reno, DuBois, Lucinda, Marienville, New Bethlehem, Cresson, Tionesta, Youngsville, Lickingville, Crown will be displaying their wares and craftsmanship.

A blacksmithing demonstration will be held during the event.

Items available include various painted crafts, jewelry, brooms, cutlery knives, baked goods, kitchen towels, clothing, candles, dog toys and accessories, purses, bathroom remodeling, laser engraving, mixed media and art, body care and wall hangings.

Kiara Gabler of the Lucinda area will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Gabler is a 10th grader and is enrolled in the Commonwealth Charter Academy.  Her singing and guitar playing is mostly county and she has been very active the past 2½ years pursuing her music career.  She is a member of the Forest County Music Association.  Her performing venues include MACA in Marienville, the Lighthouse in Tionesta, the Pony Farm Road Band, Heavenly Gaits family picnic at Clarion County Park, Wentlings Corners Community Building, Jefferson Manor Nursing Home in Brookville and the St. Joseph annual 4th of July picnic in Lucinda.  “I am very dedicated to my music and look forward to a very rewarding and successful career,” Gabler said.

The event is coordinated by the building committee members Deb McKissick, Jean Knight, Trish McKissick and Di Lewis.  “The committee reaches out in the community and surrounding areas, opening the opportunity to bring unique ideas and talent of vendors and individuals, focusing on crafters, collectors and artists, which contributes to the growth and prosperity of the village and county,” said Trish McKissick event coordinator.
