Police seeking Rimersburg man wanted on several charges

From staff reports

A Rimersburg man who is facing a slew of charges in several counties is being sought by police for stealing a teen’s games of chance winnings at gunpoint Tuesday at a mini mart in Butler County.

Butler state police said James Ganoe III, 32, ordered an 18-year-old Chicora man to give him his $10 in winnings from a Lottery game at the Petrolia Minimart at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The teen initially refused to give Ganoe the money, but Ganoe brandished two firearms and said if he didn’t hand over the cash he would shoot the cashier and steal the money from the cash register, police said.

The teen then gave Ganoe the $10 and Ganoe got gas and left the establishment, police said.

Ganoe is riding a stolen new black Harley Davison Sportster 1200 and is to be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about Ganoe’s whereabouts to contact Butler state police at (724) 283-8100.

Ganoe is also facing felony burglary and theft charges in Venango County in connection with an incident that also occurred Tuesday in Cranberry Township.
