Plans approved for Clarion County travel plaza

The Clarion County Planning Commission gave final approval this week to a major subdivision for a proposed travel plaza in Monroe Township.

The plans for the five-acre plaza include auto and truck fueling and a food court at the five-acre site.

Plaza developers GJAMS Clarion Holdings LLC bought the land from Trinity Development in June 2021. The proposed plaza would occupy lots 11 and 12B just south of Microtel.

In addition to the fueling stations there will be a charging station for electric vehicles, a car wash, a 60-vehicle parking area for cars and 19 total truck parking spaces. Access to Route 68 is pending.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August and last about eight months. The planning commission also approved a major subdivision application for Vincent Distefano for three lots in the Deer Run Development in Farmington Township.
