Perry Township photo contest announced

From staff reports

Perry Township Historical Society is sponsoring a photo contest. Contestants are not required to live in Perry Township but photos must be taken in the township.

There are four categories in which to enter. They are black and white, four seasons in the township, general scenery and wildlife. Participants can submit as many entries as desired. Also, people may be in the photo but not as the focal point.

Each 8 x 10 photo entry must be framed and will become the property of the historical society for a special display.

Entries are to be delivered to the Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom between 9 and 11 a.m. or 1 and 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1 or Tuesday, Aug. 2.

An entry form will be completed at that time with the photographer’s name, address, phone number, and location of where the photo was taken. This information will not be shared with the judge.

One winner in each category will be announced during the township’s Community Days event in August. Prizes will be awarded to those winners.

The contest is not open to professional photographers; however, judging will be done by a professional.

Deadline for the photo entry is Aug. 2. For more information, contact board member Lisa Bobbert at (814) 221-8823.
