Oberlander to hold ID theft, shredder event

State Rep. Donna Oberlander will hold an identity theft and shredder event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in the parking lot of her district office in Clarion.

There is no fee to participate in the event.

An industrial shredder truck will be set up in the parking lot of Oberlander’s office at 160 S. Second St., Clarion. Also available will be a variety of handouts and printed materials on ways people can protect their personal information from falling into the wrong hands.

Documents that are encouraged to be shredded include those with credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information.

Residents are asked to take just papers and documents in loose form. Magazines and books will not be accepted.
