Oberlander named to leadership post

From staff reports

State Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-63rd) of Clarion has been named chairman of the policy committee for the Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus. She is the first woman to be elected to that leadership post.

The 110-member caucus held a reorganization session Tuesday in Harrisburg. State Rep. Mike Turzai of Allegheny County was nominated to be speaker of the House. State Rep. Bryan Cutler of Lancaster County was chosen as the new majority leader.

Oberlander is concluding her second term as caucus secretary. She previously chaired the House oil and gas caucus and the House diabetes caucus.

The 63rd District includes Clarion County and parts of Forest and Armstrong counties.
