Novel writers at East Forest

East Forest seventh-grade students joined more than 450,000 people worldwide in trying to write a novel in 30 days. They participated in the Young Writers Program (YWP) through the National Novel Writing Month event. The students set a personal word count goal for their novels ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 words, and the seventh-grade class wrote 93,219 words in November. One-third of the seventh-grade students met their goals, and pictured here are seventh-grade winners (from left) Brody Hartle, Johnathen Lindig and Jacob Glass. (Submitted photo)
